What software is Kakao?

Kakao is a free smartphone application communication service software, released on March 18, 2010. Currently available for download and use on iOS, Android, Bada OS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, Nokia Asha, Windows and MacOS. As of May 2017, Kakao has 220 million registered users and 49 million monthly active users. It is currently the largest and most widely used communication software in the Republic of Korea. There are currently 15 language services. In 2014, it merged with South Korea's second largest website Daum.

Users can make calls and send messages for free through the Internet, and can also send one-on-one or group messages and photos.
