Twitter is a microblogging and social networking service that allows users to post and interact with messages known as "tweets", owned by the United States company Twitter, Inc. Registered users can post, like and retweet tweets, but unregistered users can only read public tweets. Users interact with Twitter programmatically through a browser or mobile front-end software or through its API.
